Invest NI strengthens North West presence

Invest Northern Ireland has opened a third new office as part of its commitment to increasing access to its range of services for new and existing clients.

Located in the Science Innovation Centre in the University of Ulster in Coleraine, the office was officially opened by Invest NI Chief Executive, Leslie Morrison on Tuesday.

Mr Morrison said the choice of location was directly related to Invest NI’s objective of promoting entrepreneurship and innovation and stimulating higher levels of research and development, by facilitating knowledge technology transfer.

“This new office will bring Invest NI’s client teams closer to our customers in the Coleraine, Limavady and Moyle areas and will also further develop our relationship with other stakeholders involved in local economic development in the area,” said Leslie Morrison.

“We have just launched a consultation process for our Accelerating Entrepreneurship strategy which aims to transform Northern Ireland into an ‘exemplar location for starting and growing a successful business’ by creating an innovative, flexible and fully integrated business support structure.

“Our presence on the ground in the local offices and our enhanced ability to work on a collaborative basis with our economic development partners are key to the success of this strategy.”

“We are also continuing our efforts to attract new inward investment to the area and are developing a north western sales proposition built around the university campuses at Coleraine and Derry, which boast world class research facilities, and turn out highly skilled graduates who have much to offer the local economy.”

Three Invest NI employees, including two client executives, will initially staff the Coleraine office. The office provision also includes a ‘hot desk’ facility for staff from other groups from Invest NI to use when required.

This is the third office to be opened in Northern Ireland in the last three months. The other two offices opened in Enniskillen and Craigavon.
