Jobs to be axed at computer firm
A County Antrim computer firm has announced that 32 jobs are to be cut.
The US owned Sanmina SCI plant in Lisburn, which makes computer cabinets and blood analysis machines for a Cork firm, today revealed that 32 staff members would be laid off – in addition to the 60 jobs that were previously announced to be axed at the beginning of the month.
300 people are currently employed by Sanmina in Northern Ireland.

The British Government's reassurances on the border "will not allay fears", Sinn Féin MLA John O'Dowd has said. Mr O'Dowd said: "Attempts by the British government's Brexit secretary David Davis to reassure people about the prospect of a hard border in Ireland post-Brexit were laughable.

DSD Announce Funding For Completion Of Whistle Project
Funding of over £200,000 has been secured for the Whistle Project in Londonderry. Social Development Minister Nelson McCausland has announced that funding of £204,960 has been allocated for the building of a single storey extension, refurbishment of the existing premises and completion a state of the art computer suite at the Waterside project.

Police have released details of a successful operation against counterfeit thieves in Co Armagh last week. Approximately £600,000 worth of counterfeit goods where seized at a house in Portadown following a joint search operation by local police and the organised crime squad on Friday.
