Record year for Andor Technology

Andor Technology, a leading developer and manufacturer of high performance digital cameras, has announced a record turnover and the opening of an office in Beijing, China.

The Belfast-based company reported year end figures with turnover up 22% to a record £19.2 million.

Commenting on the results, Andor's Executive Chairman, Dr Bryan Keating, said: "These results demonstrate that Andor Technology is benefiting from the significant investment made by the company over the last year. With the foundations now in place, combined with our expanded product offering and focus on sales and distribution, this should enable Andor to generate further profit growth both organically and via acquisition and deliver enhanced share holder value.

"We are satisfied with trading since the start of the new financial year and with orders worth over £4 million in the pipeline we look to the future with confidence."

Andor Technology has been supplying equipment to leading research institutions and companies in China for many years and the new office will enable the company to maximise growth opportunities in the fast developing Chinese market.

"China is a key market and setting up this office is a logical extension of our local focus," said Dr Keating.

"Over the past eight years, group revenue generated in China has increased dramatically. Today’s announcement confirms our intention to become the leader in high performance light measurement solutions for the global scientific and commercial marketplace."

The British Ambassador to China, William Ehrman, officially opened the office as part of the Invest Northern Ireland trade mission to China involving over 40 companies organised with the assistance of UK Trade and Investment.
