Robbers steal children's Christmas presents

Detectives have appealed for information after a robbery at a home in south Belfast at the weekend.

The incident happened at a property in McCauley Street in the Markets area of the city some time after 2am on Sunday, when a gang broke into the house, causing extensive damage in the process.

The thieves then made off with a number of girls Christmas presents as well as a sum of cash.

Police have asked for anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area around the time of the robbery, or anyone with any information in connection with it, to contact them on 0845 600 8000, or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.

Renewed Appeal After Explosive Device Thrown At A House In East Belfast
The PSNI have renewed their appeal for information after an explosive device packed with nails was thrown at a property in east Belfast. The "crudely-made" device was thrown at a property in the Bloomfield Road area on Friday, 18 May. The device partially exploded and a woman who was in the house at the time was not injured but was left shaken.

Bereaved Families Pay Tribute To Tragic Cookstown Teens
Families of the tree tragic teens who died in a crush at a St Patricks event on Sunday have paid tribute to their lost loved ones. The young victims, 16-year-old Connor Currie, 17-year-old Lauren Bullock and 17-year-old Morgan Barnard, died after the incident at the Greenvale Hotel in Cookstown on Sunday 17 March.

Appeal For Information On Assault In Ballygowan
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following a report of an assault in the Square area of Ballygowan. Making the appeal, Detective Sergeant Westbury said: "It was reported that an 18-year-old man was assaulted outside a licenced premises at around 1am this morning, Sunday 8th January.

Man Found Injured In Donaghadee
Police have launched an investigation after a man was found injured on a street in Co Down. He is in a critical condition in hospital after he was discovered on the footpath at High Street in Donaghadee at around 2.30am on Sunday, 24 September. He was found by police patrolling the area and he was taken to hospital.

Appeal Issued Over Gang Attack In Village Area Of Belfast
Police have issued an appeal for information after a man was left seriously injured when he was attacked by a gang armed with a machete last month. A 32-year-old man was left with a serious hand injury when he was attacked in the early hours of Sunday, 30 July, in the Village area of Belfast.
