Co Londonderry suffers further jobs blow
Co Londonderry suffered another jobs blow today with the news that all 180 employees of a soft furnishings factory are to lose their jobs.
Early this morning, CV Furnishing in Maydown confirmed that it is to close by the end of March.
The firm's management informed staff and union officials of the decision at 11am before sending workers home.
The jobs loss announcement follows on news earlier in the week that Castledawson based shirt makers, Saville Row are to lay off 65 of its workforce.
Last week Desmonds announced that more than 300 jobs would go at two of its factories in the province. Around 130 jobs are to go with the closure of the firm's factory in Dungiven and a further 170 jobs will be shed at the company's Springtown plant and in Londonderry.
