Police appeal for information on missing man

Police and the family of 30-year-old Hugh McKay are becoming increasingly concerned for his safety.

Mr McKay was last seen after he left his home in the Dundarve estate in Bushmills at around 11.30pm yesterday evening.

Two rescue teams are currently searching the area, while a coastguard helicopter carried out an overnight aerial search.

Mr McKay is described as being around 6'2 in height, of medium build and was wearing a dark green coloured jacket, blue jeans and brown dessert boots.

Mr McKay is deemed as a vulnerable person and anyone who believes they may have seen him or know of his whereabouts, are asked to contact police at Ballycastle on 0845 600 8000, or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.

Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Missing Co Antrim Man Found
A man who has been missing from Ballymoney since last Tuesday has been found "safe and well", police have said. Stephen Charles McKay, 47, was last seen at his home in the Co Antrim village last week (17 June) and concerns had been raised by his family regarding his whereabouts.

Danny McKay Murder: Man Arrested
A man has been arrested over the murder of Danny McKay in October. The 25-year-old man was arrested in Antrim on Tuesday morning. 36-year-old Danny McKay was murdered at his home on Longlands Road on Newtownabbey on 25 October. He was shot several times as he sat on a sofa in his living room. He died at the scene.

Funeral Held For Danny McKay
The funeral for murdered Belfast man Danny McKay has taken place. A requiem mass has been held at St Gerard's church on the Antrim Road. Fr Gerry Cassidy told the congregation the victim had died "in the early summer of his life". Sympathy and prayers were also offered to the family of David Black, the prison officer murdered on the M1 on Thursday.

Man Arrested Over Danny McKay Murder
A 25-year-old man has been arrested over the murder of Danny McKay. The man is being detained by police in north Belfast The arrest follows news that a 23-year-old man who was arrested by detectives in the investigation had been released unconditionally.
