Robbers threaten to drown Keady pensioner

Police have appealed for information after a pensioner was robbed at her home in County Armagh yesterday evening.

The incident happened at around 7.15pm when two men called to the home of an 88-year-old woman in the Armagh Road area of Keady.

As the woman answered the door, the men pushed their way into her home and ordered the woman to stay in her kitchen.

The men then filled the sink with water and warned her that if she did not keep quiet they would drown her.

They then placed a towel over her head while they ransacked the house.

The robbers, who are said to have spoken with southern Irish accents, then made off with a small sum of money.

Anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area around the time of the robbery, or anyone with any information in connection with it, are asked to contact police in County Armagh on 0845 600 8000, or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.
