Three injured in petrol bomb attack

Detectives in west Belfast have appealed for information following a petrol bomb attack on a property in the area yesterday evening.

Two men and a woman, aged in their late teens and early 20s, were in the property in the New Barnsley Crescent area of the city when the the device was thrown shortly before 10pm.

It is understood that all three were injured during the incident, however one of the men is said to be in a critical condition.

A spokesperson for the PSNI today said that the incident is believed to be linked to a feud between two families in the area.

Police are investigating reports of two men being seen running from the scene with their clothes possibly on fire.

They are also appealing to anyone who noticed individuals carrying cans or containers which may have contained petrol, or to staff from any petrol stations who may have sold a quantity of petrol in containers over the past few days.

Detectives have also asked for anyone who may know of anyone who may have suffered, or been treated for burns since last night, to contact them on 0845 600 8000, or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.

A fourth petrol bomb attack on a Londonderry interface has further heightened tensions in the area. The mainly Protestant Fountain estate in central Derry has seen several attacks which have this week led to warnings from both nationalist and unionist politicians that someone could be killed in a confrontation.

Houses damaged in separate petrol bomb attacks
Two houses have been attacked in separate petrol bomb attacks in Belfast and Downpatrick. In north Belfast, a device was thrown through a glass pane in the front door of a house on the Crumlin Road at around 11pm last night. In Downpatrick, a house in the Mount Crescent area suffered scorch damage in the early hours of Friday morning.

Two men arrested following petrol bomb attack
Police in Ballymena have arrested two men following a sectarian attack on a home in Ahoghill at the weekend. Shortly before 4am on Sunday, a petrol bomb was thrown at the front of the house in the Brookfield Gardens area of the town. A woman, who was in the house at the time, was not physically injured.

Police Vehicle Attacked In East Belfast
A police vehicle has been attacked with petrol bombs in east Belfast on Thursday night. The incident happened in St Patrick's Walk at around 8pm. Three petrol bombs were thrown at the vehicle, however there were no reports of any injuries or damage. Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

Petrol Bomb Thrown At Police Vehicle In Co Antrim
Two masked men threw a petrol bomb at a police vehicle in Co Antrim. The attack happened in the Castlemara Drive area in Carrickfergus at around 2.20am on Sunday, 29 May. The bomb hit the vehicle, however no damage was caused. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
