Woman's body found in east Belfast

Detectives in east Belfast are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman whose body was found yesterday evening.

The woman, believed to be in her 40s, was discovered in the Clarawood area of the city at around 5.20pm.

A post-mortem examination is expected to take place later today to establish the cause of death.

The woman's identity has not yet been released.

Woman Found Murdered In East Belfast
Police are treating the death of a 53-year-old woman at a house in east Belfast as murder. The discovery was made at a home in the Whincroft Way area on Sunday evening, 10 March. A post-mortem is due to be carried out to determine the cause of death. A 42-year-old man has been arrested and is in police custody.

East Belfast Blaze Kills Woman
There has been a tragic fire in east Belfast with a 55-year-old woman killed in a domestic house blaze. It was at a house on Castlereagh Place off the Woodstock Road on Saturday night with a neighbour noticing smoke coming from the house and then alerting the Fire Service.

Dublin Rabies Scare Proves Unfounded
Just days after the tragic death of a Belfast woman who lost her extended fight with a rabies infection, four people have had to be given emergency vaccinations in a Dublin hospital. The precaution following a rabies scare in the Irish Republic, where it has emerged they were bitten by an illegally imported kitten suspected of having rabies.
