Pensioner robbed in County Armagh

Police in County Armagh have appealed for information following the robbery of a pensioner in his home yesterday evening.

The incident happened at around 6.30pm, when two men called to the home of an 85-year-old man in the Loughgall Road area of Portadown.

As the pensioner opened the door to his property, the men forced their way inside and proceeded to ransack his bedroom.

When the man confronted the robbers, they made their escape, taking with them his wallet, which contained a sum of cash.

The man was uninjured, however was left badly shaken by his ordeal.

Police have warned the public, especially the elderly, to be wary of unexpected callers, and always to ask for identification. Anyone suspicious should be reported to police.

Detectives in Portadown have asked for anyone who may have any information on the robbery to contact them on 0845 600 8000, or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 5555 111.

Co Fermanagh man suffers broken nose in robbery
A Co Fermanagh man has suffered a broken nose after being assaulted by two men at his home in Enniskillen. The 65-year-old man was confronted by two men who forced their way into his home on Sunday. They then assaulted him before robbing his home. It is understood that a sum of money was taken during the robbery.
