Three released after counterfeit goods seizure
The three men who were arrested following the seizure of suspected counterfeit goods in south Belfast yesterday, have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
The items, which are believed to have been worth an estimated £250,000, were recovered yesterday during a planned search operation in the King Street area of the city, involving local uniformed officers and officers from the Intellectual Property Crime Unit supported by a representative from FACT - Federation Against Copyright Theft.
The items seized included fireworks, DVDs, a wide range of clothing and footwear.

Illegal cigarettes seized in County Tyrone
Police in County Tyrone have seized around 60,000 illegal cigarettes during a raid yesterday evening. Shortly before 8pm, police searched a vehicle in the Victoria Bridge area of Strabane, during which they made the discovery. One man was arrested, but was later released pending further enquiries.

Counterfeit DVD's worth around £600,000 have been seized during raids in Belfast and Ballymoney last night. During a joint operation by police and Customs and Excise, and the Fraud and Organised Crime Squads, DVD's and a sum of cash and other items used for making illegal DVD's were seized from shops in Belfast city centre.

Customs officers in fuel seizure success
Customs officers have seized ten buses, two taxis and 4,400 litres of fuel during a series of operations in Counties Tyrone, Down and Antrim on Friday, they revealed today. Customs specialist road fuel officers carried out the operation which targeted illegal fuel use by commercial transport companies.

It is understood that officers seized around 2,500 counterfeit DVDs during a raid in a house in the Glencairn area of the city. A police spokesman said that that the DVDs would have an estimated street value of around £50,000.
