Bomb attack not believed to be sectarian

Police have said that they do not believe that a pipe-bomb attack in Armagh last night was sectarian.

The device, which was put through the letterbox of the flat in Gough Avenue at about 10pm, exploded in the hallway of the building, damaging the door and carpet.

Six people escaped injury in the attack.

Elsewhere, a school on the outskirts of south Belfast has been badly damaged in an arson attack for the seventh time in 10 years.

One classroom at Rathmore Grammar School in Dunmurry was damaged in the attack when a window was broken and rags, soaked in flammable liquid and set alight, were thrown inside.
