Family tied up during weekend robbery

A woman and her child have been tied up during an armed robbery at their home in County Armagh at the weekend.

The incident happened at around 8pm on Saturday evening, when three men – two of whom were armed with handguns, entered the house at Sheetrim Road in Middletown, and tied up the woman and her seven-year-old son with masking tape.

The robbers also tried to restrain the woman's one-year-old daughter, before making off with a small sum of cash.

No one was injured during the incident, and police in County Armagh have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the robbery, or who may have any information in relation with it, to contact them on 0845 600 8000, or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.

A pensioner has been treated for shock after being tied up during a robbery at her home in east Belfast last night. The 78-year-old woman was confronted by three masked youths as she slept in the living room of her home at Chesham Grove at around 10pm on Thursday.

Police in south Belfast have appealed for information after a robbery at a hotel in the city in the early hours of this morning. The incident happened at a hotel on University Street at around 2.15am, when a hotel porter was taking rubbish outside of the premises.

Woman Grabbed By Collar During Armed Robbery
A woman has been grabbed by the collar during an armed robbery at a fast food outlet in west Belfast. The incident happened at premises in the Andersonstown Road area at around 10.25pm on Monday. A man with a suspected firearm grabbed the staff member and demanded cash from the till. He made off with a sum of money.
