Two injured during County Tyrone attack

Police in County Tyrone have appealed for information after two people were assaulted at the weekend.

Shortly before 10pm yesterday evening, two males were walking past the Derryloran Church in the Church Street area of Cookstown, when they were attacked by a gang of up to nine unknown assailants – one of whom was armed with a knife.

One of the victims sustained a cut to his arm and neck and was taken to hospital with serious, but not life threatening, injuries.

The other male suffered minor cuts during the attack.

Police in Cookstown are trying to establish a motive for the assault and are currently following all lines of inquiry.

Woman sexually assaulted in County Tyrone
Police in County Tyrone are investigating an indecent assault on a woman at the weekend. The incident happened at around 6pm on Saturday evening, when the victim, a 26-year-old woman, was making her way along the Maloon View area of Cookstown. The woman was approached by a man who pushed her against a wall and proceeded to indecently assault her.

Police in Londonderry have appealed for information following a serious sexual assault on a woman in the city in the early hours of this morning. The attack happened close to a licensed premises at Rock Terrace in the Strand Road area between 3am and 3.30am this morning.

Man assaulted in Ballymena attack
Police in Ballymena have appealed for information following an assault in the town last night. The man was walking along the Broughshane Road, close to the rugby club, when the attack took place. A van pulled up alongside the victim and bundled him inside, where he was then assaulted.

Two Men Assaulted In Newtownabbey
Two men, aged in their 50s, have sustained head injuries after being assaulted during a break-in at a house in Newtownabbey. The attack happened at a house in the Clonmore Walk area at around 8.30pm on Saturday, 06 January. Three men armed with baseball bats smashed a window of the property and attacked the men.
