Woman released over pensioner murder probe

A woman arrested yesterday in connection with the murder of a County Down pensioner has been released without charge.

Yesterday, two people, a man and a woman, were arrested by police investigating the murder of 77-year-old Tilly Campbell who was found dead at her home in the Barnagh Park area of Donaghadee on October 9.

The man was later released without charge.

Mrs Campbell's body was discovered by fire-fighters who had been called to the scene after receiving reports of a fire at the property.

Last week, a man appeared in court charged with the murder.

A man arrested in connection with a murder in Lurgan on Sunday, 06 August, has been released on bail pending further enquiries. The body of a man, aged 45, was discovered at a flat on Victoria Street. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Man released over pensioner's murder
A man arrested earlier today by police investigating the murder of a County Down pensioner has been released without charge. A woman who was also arrested this morning, remains in police custody and is currently assisting police with their inquiries.

Andrew Allen Murder - Man Released Without Charge
Gardaí have released a man without charge after arresting him in connection with the murder of a man from L'Derry. The man in his 40s was released on Thursday evening. Father of two Andrew Allen was shot dead on 9 February 2012 at his house at Links View Parka house near Buncrana, County Donegal.

David Black Murder - Man Released Without Charge
A man who was being held by police in the Republic of Ireland in connection with the murder of prison officer David Black on 1 November last year has been released without charge. The 51-year-old male was arrested and detained at Ballyconnell Garda Station on Monday 2 December 2013.
