Man dies in County Down collision

A man has died following a road traffic incident in County Down.

19-year-old John Stephenson from the Rathgill Green area of Bangor, died as the result of a collision which happened on the Belfast Road near Bangor shortly before 10.45pm last night.

It is understood that only one vehicle was involved in the crash and no one else was injured.

The Belfast Road was closed for a short time after the collision, but has since been reopened to traffic.

This incident brings the total number of deaths on Northern Ireland's roads so far this year to 100.

The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a serious road traffic collision in Newcastle, Co Down. The Ballagh Road has been closed and motorists are being advised to avoid the area. Serious Road Traffic Collision In L'Derry
A road in L'Derry has been closed following a serious road traffic collision. It is understood that emergency services are at the scene on Tyrconnell Street. Motorists are advised to avoid the area, while investigations are being carried out. There is no information on when the road might re-open.
