Three arrested following hijacking attempt

Two men and a youth have been arrested for questioning following an attempted hijacking in the Newtownabbey area.

The two men aged 22 and 18 and a 14-year-old boy were detained following an incident at around 2.30am on Monday morning.

A police spokesperson said that there had been a hijack attempt on a vehicle on the Shore Road close to the Greenisland interchange.

Men Arrested In Connection With Right-Wing Extremism Released
Four men arrested in connection with right-wing extremism have been released. The men, aged 29, 30, 36 and 46, were arrested following house searches in Ballymena and Coleraine on Wednesday, 26 October. The men have been released pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service (PPS).

Man Arrested After Being Hit By Car During Alleged Hijacking
Police have arrested a man after he was hit by a car during an alleged hijacking attempt in Belfast on Monday evening. The 23-year-old stepped in front of the car with an imitation gun on North Street at around 8.30pm. He was hit by the car and is being treated in hospital with a suspected broken leg.

Man Arrested Following Police Searches In Belfast
A man in his 30s has been arrested following several police searches in Belfast. The searches were carried out in the Shankill area on Friday morning, 02 September. They are part of an "ongoing commitment to tackle the supply of illegal drugs in the Belfast area", according to a PSNI spokesperson.

Two arrested during Belfast hostage incident
Police believe they have foiled an attempt by criminals to steal a substantial amount of valuables in the Greater Belfast area. As a result of the proactive police operation, a male jeweller who had been taken hostage was released unharmed by police. Two men were arrested.

Man Arrested Following Incident At House In Coleraine
A 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an incident at a house in Coleraine, Co L'Derry. It happened at a property on Knockantern Grove in the Mountsandel area on Tuesday, 16 August. The suspect has been arrested on suspicion of possessing of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an offence and assault on police.
