B&Q store damaged in arson attack

B&Q's Newtownabbey store has been damaged in an arson attack.

The store sustained smoke and water damage following a small blaze caused by an incendiary-type device left in a timber section of the store.

It is reported that a number of people were working in the store at the time the device exploded. No-one was injured.

The blaze activated the store's sprinkler system which contained the fire until firefighters arrived.

Police have appealed to traders to be vigilant.
