Pensioner attacked in County Armagh

Police in County Armagh have appealed for information after an 80-year-old woman was attacked during a robbery at her home yesterday afternoon.

Three men, believed to be aged in their 20's, forced their way into the woman's home in the Tassagh Road, near Keady in County Armagh at around 4pm.

The robbers assaulted the pensioner before ransacking the property and making off with a small sum of cash.

The victim sustained minor injuries during the attack, and was left badly shaken by the ordeal.

Detectives have asked for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or anyone who may have noticed a large black coloured car parked in the Tassagh Road area around the time of the robbery, to contact them on 0845 600 8000, or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.

Woman Dies In Garage Fire At Portadown Home
A woman has died after a fire in the garage of a house in Portadown, County Armagh. The fire at Oakleigh Park, off the Brownstown Road, was reported to police shortly after 07:20 GMT on Monday. Police and firefighters are still at the scene and are investigating the cause of the fire. The woman's name has not yet been released.

County Armagh man dies following road accident
A County Armagh man has died after he fell from the back of a jeep in County Louth. Stephen Rice, aged 27, from Crossmaglen, died in hospital following the accident which occured at around 10:30am on Sunday at Rassan in County Louth. It is understood that the victim had suffered a serious head injury after he fell from the back of the vehicle.

Safety Appeal As Kids Frequent Lurgan Building Site
