Couple tied up and robbed in County Down
Detectives in County Down have appealed for information following an aggravated burglary at the home of a middle-aged couple in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Shortly after 2.30am, three men broke into the property on the Birch Road area of Bangor and confronted the couple in their bed.
The robbers proceeded to tie the couple up, inflicting a slight knife wound to the neck of the man of the house in the process.
The three men then ransacked the house before making off with an undisclosed sum of money.
The thieves are all described as being between 5'4 and 5'5 in height, of slim to medium build, and were all wearing dark clothes and baseball caps.
Police have asked for anyone who was in the Birch Road area of Bangor between 2.15am and 2.45am on Wednesday morning and may have witnessed anything in connection with the robbery, to contact them on 0845 600 8000, or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.

The men, Patrick Joseph Quinn, aged 17, from Whitecliff Parade, and Sean Paul Reid, 19, from Divismore Crescent, both Belfast, appeared before Belfast Magistrates Court in connection with an incident at Norfolk Drive in the west of the city on Monday. Couple escape injury in arson attack
A Co Down couple have escaped injury following a petrol bomb attack at their home in Moira, Co Down. It is believed that three petrol bombs were thrown at the house shortly after 1.20am this morning. The couple, who were in bed at the time, escaped unhurt. Some damage was caused to their front door and a car.

Couple Die In Omagh Crash
A couple, aged in their 70s, have died in a crash in Omagh. The collision, between a car and a lorry, happened on the Doogary Road just before 3pm on Monday, 03 September. The man and woman died at the scene of the crash. The lorry driver was not injured.

Two Men Attacked With Baseball Bats In Co Antrim
Two 18-year-old men have been attacked with baseball bats in Whitehead, Co Antrim. The victims were closing premises in the Balmoral Avenue area at around 8.30pm on Tuesday, 04 October when three men assaulted them. Both men were treated in hospital for their injuries. One has been discharged, and the other remains in hospital.
