County Down pensioner burgled twice within a week
Detectives in County Down have appealed for information following two separate burglaries at the same address over the past week.
At around 5pm yesterday evening, five men entered the home of a 91-year-old man in the Camlough area of Newry.
One of the men spoke to the pensioner in his bedroom before stealing his wallet which contained a sum of cash.
In the meantime, the four other thieves ransacked the property, before all five escaped.
In a separate incident on Saturday September 30, a man called to the same address at around 7.30pm, and as the pensioner opened the door, the man pushed him aside allowing a number of young people to enter the house.
They made off with an undisclosed amount of money.
Detectives in Newry are trying to establish if both incidents are connected and have asked for anyone who may have witnessed either robbery or anyone who may have any information in connection with them, to contact them on 0845 600 8000, or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.
