Man shot in 'paramilitary style' attack

Police in County Antrim have appealed for information after a man was shot during a paramilitary style attack at the weekend.

The incident happened in the Parkmount Terrace area of north Belfast at around 9.15pm on Saturday evening, when a 24-year-old man was attacked from behind by two men.

The attackers knocked the victim to the ground, the proceeded to shoot him in the calf of his left left leg.

Police in north Belfast are investigating a possible motive for the shooting, and have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who may have any information in connection with it, to contact them on 0845 600 8000, or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.

Police have launched a murder investigation after a man was shot dead in west Belfast. The attack happened at a house in Glenwood Court, Poleglass, at around 8.15pm on Thursday, 20 October. He has been named locally as Joe Reilly, aged 43.

The man was getting out of his car at the Quays in Killyleagh at about 1.00am on Wednesday morning when a man approached him and shot him. The man is recovering in hospital where his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Belfast man shot in paramilitary-style attack
A 22-year-old man has been treated in hospital after being shot in a paramilitary style attack in west Belfast last night. The victim is believed to have been taken by a number of masked men into an area of Tullymore Gardens in Andersonstown where he was shot once in each ankle.
