MM Group expansion nets jobs for Bangor
The MM Group has announced a £1.5 million expansion to its Bangor call centre operation which will see the creation of up to 41 jobs.
The expansion is the result of an investment programme involving "selective financial assistance" of £224,200 from Invest NI. As a result of the investment, the company expects to employ an additional 41 staff – 24 of whom are already in place. Current employment in the Bangor site is 450.
MM Group Chief Executive, Jeff Smith, said: "Our experience is that we can recruit very high quality personnel in Northern Ireland and this is reflected in the excellent performance of our Bangor operation to date. This investment reflects our belief in the local workforce."
The Bangor centre is the biggest MM Group contact centre within its network of nationwide contact centres. The new customer relationship facility – which services clients such as Sony, Dunnes Stores and the UK Passport Service – will be a multi-channel operation handling telephone, fax, web and email communications. Staff at the centre will handle all aspects of customer services including sales, technical support and billing inquiries.
MM Group is on of the leading providers of customer communications in the UK. The company intends to recruit some of its new staff through the New Deal and Bridge to Employment programmes.
MM Group employs almost 1,000 staff at its four sites in Bristol, Ashby-de-la-Zouche, Cardiff and Bangor.
