Attempted robbery in south Belfast

Police are appealing for information following an attempted robbery at a cash and carry premises in south Belfast at the weekend.

The incident happened at around 5.20pm on Sunday, when three masked man, one armed with a handgun, entered the security cabin at the Linfield Industrial Estate and tied up the security guard.

The men waited for some time, before entering the cash and carry premises, where they confronted three members of staff and tied them up with cable ties.

The robbers attempted to open a safe, but failed and proceeded to make off with CCTV footage and mobile phones belonging to staff.

The thieves are all said to have been wearing balaclavas and gloves, and were between 5'8 and 6 feet tall, of medium to stocky build, and with Belfast accents.

Anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area around the time of the incident, or who may have any information in connection with it, are asked to contact police in south Belfast on 0845 600 8000, or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.

Three people have been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing attack in south Belfast. The assault happened on the Laganbank Road at around 11.45pm on Wednesday, 22 August. An 18-year-old man sustained serious injuries in the attack. Five men were arrested and three have been charged with attempted murder and a number of other offences.

Man Armed With Screwdriver Threatens Staff In South Belfast
A man armed with a screwdriver has threatened staff at premises in south Belfast, according to the police. The suspect entered the shop on the Dublin Road at around 10.15am on Sunday, 02 May. He threatened staff and made off with a sum of cash. However, the man believed to have been involved in the incident, was detained by members of the public.

Investigation Launched Following Armed Robbery In South Belfast
Police have launched an investigation following an armed robbery in south Belfast. Three men, armed with knives, entered premises on the Boucher Road at around 7am on Thursday, 21 April. The men tied up two members of staff and made off with a sum of cash. It is believed they left the scene in a white van in the direction of Boucher Crescent.
