Man remanded over hijackings
A 31-year-old man has appeared at Newry Magistrates Court charged in connection with a spate of hijackings in County Down, County Armagh and County Louth last week.
Christopher Connors, of Downs Road, Newcastle, was charged with three counts of hijacking, one count of robbery, attempted hijacking, false imprisonment, threat to kill, assault and assault causing actual bodily harm.
The charges relate to several incidents last Thursday, during which nine vehicles were stolen and several people were injured.
The accused was remanded in custody and will appear in court via video-link on October 18.

A 23-year-old man has appeared at Armagh Magistrates Court charged in connection with a cross border hijacking spree last month. John Paul Collins, of Salisbury Avenue in Slough, was charged with 16 offences including robbery, hijacking, theft, making threats to kill and assaulting police.

Man due remanded over cigarette find
A 32-year-old man has appeared at Newry Magistrates Court, charged in connection with possession of terrorist property. Patrick Brian Seamus Dynes, from Granemore Park in Keady, is charged with possessing property for the purposes of terrorism. The charge relates to the discovery of 15.

Man released on bail on cigarette charges
A 41-year-old man, accused of possessing over 15 million cigarettes, and with terrorism charges, has today been released on bail by a High Court judge in Belfast. Henry McLaughlin, from Derryvaren Road, Coalisland, County Tyrone, was also charged with concealing more than £65,000 under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
