Items seized during police raid

Police have seized a number of items as part of an ongoing operation into organised criminal activity in mid-Ulster and County Londonderry.

Searches were carried out earlier today in Garvagh, Drumsern, Dungiven and Feeny, during which officers seized two fire arms, a quantity of cannabis and herbal cannabis, an amount of contraband cigarettes, and documentation.

An amount of £27,000 in cash and cheques was also seized under the proceeds of Crime Act 2002.

A PSNI spokesperson today said that police inquiries into the matter are continuing.

The drugs were discovered during a vehicle stop and search in Moira on Thursday, 19 September. Man Charged With Drugs Offences In Co Antrim
A man has been charged with drugs offences in Co Antrim. The 42-year-old man was charged after police seized £30,000 of suspected herbal cannabis in the Ballymoney area. He was arrested on the Frosses Road on Monday. He has been charged with possession of a class B controlled drug and possession of a class B controlled drug with intent to supply.

Two Charged Over £10,000 Heroin Seizure
Two people have been charged after police seized £10,000 worth of heroin in Poyntzpass, Newry. A woman, 40, and a man, 49, were arrested after police stopped a car on Church Street on Tuesday, 27 September.

Armagh man charged over drugs find
A 45-year-old County Armagh man is to appear in court following a drugs find at the weekend. The man will appear before Armagh Magistrates Court on November 28, facing charges of possession of a Class C drug, possession of a Class C drug with intent to supply, and the cultivation of a Class C drug.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.
