Paisley's personal details in hands of IRA

DUP leader Ian Paisley has revealed that his personal details have been found in the hands of the IRA.

The North Antrim MP was informed of the news by the PSNI on Friday evening, however he has criticised police for not informing him earlier.

Mr Paisley said he was "alarmed" at the delay in being told he was on the IRA intelligence list. He claimed police had taken four months to inform him of the news.

The news follows mirrors last week's police warning to Ulster Unionist MPs Jeffrey Donaldson and David Burnside who were told that IRA also had their details.

The documents were found last October in a PSNI operation which broke up a major IRA intelligence gathering operation in Belfast.

Northern Ireland's power-sharing executive was suspended on October 14 2002 following the row over allegations of IRA spying within the Northern Ireland Office.
