Armed robbery in south Belfast

Police in south Belfast have appealed for information following an armed robbery at a petrol station yesterday evening.

The incident happened at around 10.30pm, when a man armed with a knife entered the premises in the Finaghy area of the Upper Lisburn Road, and threatened a member of staff.

He then ordered the employee to hand over a sum of cash, before making off in a silver coloured car driven by a female.

The car was later stopped by police in the Ballysillan area of north Belfast, and the man and woman were both arrested and are currently being questioned in relation with the incident.

Man Arrested Over Armed Robbery In West Belfast
A man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery in west Belfast. The robbery happened at a shop on Caffrey Avenue at around 9.30pm on Tuesday, 27 February. The suspect threatened a member of staff and made off with a sum of cash and cigarettes. He was arrested on Wednesday, 28 February, and has been detained in police custody.

Man being questioned following robbery
A man is being questioned by police following an armed robbery in north Belfast on Monday. At around 7am two masked men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, entered a shop on the Ardoyne Road. The two men proceeded to steal a sum of cash and cigarettes before leaving.

Armed robbery in north Belfast
Police in north Belfast have appealed for information following the armed robbery of a delivery van this morning. The incident happened shortly after 10.30am in the Antrim Road area of the city, when three men – one armed with a wheel brace - approached and threatened the delivery staff. The thieves then made off with a quantity of cigarettes.

Robber’s gun jams during Castlewellan hold-up
During an armed robbery in a County Down shop, a 19-year-old woman has had a gun held to her head and the trigger pulled several times without the gun firing.
