Child escapes injury during shooting incident
Police are investigating a motive for a shooting incident in County Antrim, in which an 11-year-old boy escaped injury.
Two shots were fired at the child's bedroom window at his home in the Old Ballybracken Road, near Doagh at around 2am this morning.
Damage was caused to the bedroom window and the front door of the property, however the child and two adults who were also in the house at the time of the shooting, were uninjured in the attack.
At this stage, a sectarian motive is not suspected.
Detectives in Newtownabbey have appealed for any witnesses, or anyone with any information on the shooting, to contact them on 0845 600 8000, or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 5555 111.

PSNI Appeal For Information About West Belfast Shooting
The PSNI have appeal for witnesses to or any one with any information about a shooting incident in west Belfast on Wednesday night. A man was shot in the leg at Creeslough Gardens at around 21:30 on Wednesday night. It is understood that victim is in his 40s and his injuries are not life threatening.

The charity Barnardos has revealed that two areas in Northern Ireland have two of the highest rates of child poverty in the UK.

Police have renewed their appeal for information about the murder of a man in north Belfast a year ago. Frankie Mulholland (34) was attacked at around 8pm on December 3 2001 as he sat in his car, parked near a petrol station on the Upper Crumlin Road.

Family escape injury in gun attack
A family have escaped injury following a gun attack on a house in Co Down over the weekend. The incident happened at about 11pm on Saturday night in the White City area of Holywood. A man, his mother and sister escaped injury in the attack after a shot was fired through the front bedroom window of the house as the family watched television.

Police Describe Shooting Of Teenager As 'Child Abuse'
Police have described the shooting of a 16-year-old boy in west Belfast as "child abuse". The teenager was attacked in the Springfield Road area at around 8.50pm on Thursday, 16 February. He was taken to hospital to be treated for his injures where his condition has been described as stable.
