House attacked with petrol bombs

Police have revealed that they believe that a petrol bomb attack on a house in County Antrim in the early hours of this morning was carried out by mistake.

A PSNI spokesperson said that it is now understood that the family living in the house were not the intended targets.

The attack happened at around 1am this morning, when two petrol bombs were thrown at the property in the Dunfane Park area of Ballymena.

One of the devices hit a wall outside the house and the second caused scorch damage to the living room.

Three youths were seen running towards the Beech Drive area of the town, and police are carrying out an investigation into the attack.
