Armed robbery in west Belfast bar
Police in west Belfast have appealed for information following an armed robbery at a public house earlier today.
Three men, armed with a handgun, a shotgun, and a crowbar, entered the licensed premises on the Glen Road area of the city shortly after 9.30am, and threatened the manager.
One of the robbers demanded that the man hand over money, then proceeded to tie him up using plastic cable ties, before making off with a substantial amount of cash.
The manager was not injured during the incident.
One of the thieves is described as being around 35 to 48-years-old and with sandy coloured hair.
He is said to have been wearing a dust mask, a white coloured hard hat, a fluorescent jacket, and was carrying a handgun.
The second robber is described as being around 45-years-old, of heavy build, and was wearing white overalls, a scarf covering his face, dark glasses, and was armed with a shotgun.
The third man is said to be tall, of thin build and was carrying a crowbar.
All three are believed to have had local accents, and were all wearing black woollen gloves.

A masked man has attempted to rob a business in west Belfast. The incident happened in the Carrigart Avenue area, located off the Glen Road in the west of the city, at around 7.30pm on Wednesday (11 February). Police have said the man was dressed in black and wearing latex gloves.

Police appeal after Belfast robberies
Police are appealing for information following two separate robberies in Belfast yesterday. The first of these took place in the north of the city yesterday morning at a Bookmakers on the Crumlin Road. At around 9.50am, the manager was opening his premises when he was approached by a man who ordered him not to turn around.

Two armed men wearing Halloween masks have robbed a shop in west Belfast. The incident happened in the Shankill Road area just before 10am on Saturday, 06 October. The men, armed with hammers, demanded money and then fled the premises. Staff were left badly shaken, however there were no injuries.

A serving member of the British armed forces has been arrested in England on suspicion of terrorism-related offences in Northern Ireland. The 30-year-old man was detained at an address in Somerset and has been taken to a West Country police station.
