Man remanded over city attack
A 22-year-old man has been remanded in custody charged with attempted murder and obstruction.
Andrew Aparicio, of Kilbroney House in the Cregagh estate in east Belfast appeared at Belfast Magistrates Court today, charged in connection with the serious assault on a man in in the Connsbrooke Avenue area of the city shortly before 12.40am on Tuesday morning.
During the hearing, a police officer told the court that he believed that he could connect the accused with the charges.
Earlier this week, three men who were also arrested in connection with the attack were released pending police reports.
The victim, who has not yet been named, was taken to the Royal Victoria hospital in Belfast, where he remains in a "critical condition."
It is understood the victim, who was not from the area, had attended a party at a house in the street after a night out in the city centre.

Man due in court facing drugs charges
A 28-year-old man is due to appear in court charged with possession of a Class C drug with intent to supply. The man is also charged with being concerned with the supply of a Class C drug. He is expected to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court later today.
