Porter tied up during hotel robbery

Police in south Belfast have appealed for information after a robbery at a hotel in the city in the early hours of this morning.

The incident happened at a hotel on University Street at around 2.15am, when a hotel porter was taking rubbish outside of the premises.

He was grabbed by a man armed with a knife, who took him inside the hotel, where he was joined by another man, armed with a screwdriver.

The porter was tied up and the men proceeded to steal money from gaming machines, and a large bottle of whiskey.

Man Dies In Fermanagh Crash
A man has died following the serious road collision that occurred on the Dublin Road at Enniskillen, County Fermanagh. The incident happened close to the Killyhevlin hotel, shortly before 8am this morning. A PSNI spokesperson said a car and a van were involved in the crash.

Police appeal following spate of armed robberies
Detectives in Lisburn and West Belfast have appealed for information in connection with three armed robberies. At around 6.30pm yesterday evening, three men, armed with a hammer and a long bladed knife, entered a convenience store on the Stewartstown Road in Belfast, and stole a lottery machine, a till and a cash register.
