UDA announce new leadership
The Ulster Defence Association has appointed a new leadership in north Belfast, it has emerged.
It has been reported that the UDA's 'Inner Council' has claimed it has replaced the existing leadership in the north Belfast area, however this has been denied by the north Belfast brigade leaders.
The announcement comes five weeks after the 'Inner Council' expelled Andre and Ihab Shoukri in what they said was an attempt to clean up the image of the paramilitary organisation.
At present, both Shoukri brothers are currently in prison.
Andre Shoukri faces blackmail, intimidation and money laundering charges, while Ihab Shoukri is charged with UDA membership.
Both deny the charges.

An investigation has been launched into an incident in which a 13-year-old girl was threatened with a knife by three teenage boys in west Belfast. Two Men Charged Following Major Disturbance In South Belfast
Two men have been charged in connection with a large scale brawl in south Belfast in the early hours of Sunday, 01 December. Police were called to the scene of an ongoing disturbance in the Bradbury Place area. The incident is understood to have started in a a bar in the area, before continuing on the street outside.

Shortly after 2am, police received a report of a fight inside a nightclub. Security staff had removed the individuals involved before police arrived, but the altercation continued outside.
