Security alert in west Belfast
A security alert is ongoing in west Belfast after a suspicious device was found in the area.
Army Technical Officers have been tasked to the North Howard street area of the city, and are currently examining the suspicious object which was found just before lunchtime today.
A spokesperson for the PSNI has said that the security gates on the street have been closed and the area will remain sealed off until further notice.
Police have warned drivers to avoid the area.

Security Alert Underway In Belfast
A security alert is currently underway in Belfast. It is understood there have been reports of a suspicious object found in the Tates Avenue area of the city. As a result, the road has been closed between Boucher Road roundabout and Lorne Street. Police and army bomb experts are in attendance at the scene. No other details have been released.

Security Alert In South Belfast Declared A Hoax
Residents had to be evacuated from their homes in south Belfast following a security alert in south Belfast. A suspicious object was thrown at a property in the Blythe Street area at around 11.30pm. Police and army technical officers attended the scene which was described as a hoax. The residents have now returned to their homes.

Security Alerts Underway In Tyrone And L'Derry
Two security alerts are underway in Co Tyrone and Co L'Derry. In Co Tyrone the Urney Road has been closed between Bells Road and Bellspark Road. Police are urging the public not to touch any suspicious objects in the area and diversions have been put in place.

Security Alert Ongoing In Coleraine
A number of homes have been evacuated following the discovery of a suspicious object in Coleraine. The object was found in the Brook Street area today, 05 May. Police are at the scene and the street has been closed. No further details have been released.

Two suspicious objects found during a security alert in Carrickfergus, County Antrim, have been declared elaborate hoaxes according to police. The security alert began on Sunday afternoon in the Broadlands Gardens area of the town, when several homes were evacuated.
