Petrol bombers attack police in Londonderry
Police came under a petrol attack in Londonderry last night while examining a suspect package.
Officers were called to examine a suspicious object in Fahan Street in the city. They were then confronted by a crowd who threw a total of 10 petrol bombs and one paint bomb. There were no reports of any injuries.
Army technical officers also attended the scene and sealed off the surrounding area whilst a controlled explosion was carried out. A number of houses were also evacuated.
The suspect device was declared a hoax.

Police and family attacked by petrol bombers
Police examining a suspicious object in Strabane's Ballycolman industrial estate in County Tyrone have come under attack by petrol bombers. Officers called in to examine a suspicious object found in the estate at around midnight were attacked by a number of youths hurling petrol bombs and stones.

Petrol bombers have attacked police investigating reports of attacks in Londonderry's mainly protestant Fountain Estate. Officers investigating reports of youths throwing petrol bombs in the area on Saturday themselves came under attack at around 9.00pm. A number of petrol bombs were thrown at police vehicles, but there were no reports of injuries.

Petrol Bomb Attacks Target Fountain - Again
A fourth petrol bomb attack on a Londonderry interface has further heightened tensions in the area. The mainly Protestant Fountain estate in central Derry has seen several attacks which have this week led to warnings from both nationalist and unionist politicians that someone could be killed in a confrontation.

Petrol bombers besiege Lurgan police station
A crowd throwing bricks, bottles and petrol bombs attacked Lurgan police station at around 8.45pm last night. The disturbance followed in the wake of a banned Black Preceptory parade through the town, which the police were reportedly forced to allow through when a lorry driver refused to move his vehicle from a cordoned off area.
