Police officers injured in Newtownabbey attack
Two police officers have been injured after coming under attack by a group of youths in Newtownabbey.
The incident happened at around 6.15pm on Tuesday evening, when officers were called out to the Rathcoole area, after reports of an assault.
Following the arrest of one man, a police vehicle came under attack, with stones and bricks hurled at the vehicle, breaking windows and showering the officers with glass. One was later taken to hospital for treatment.
Inspector Steven Marshall has condemned the attack, stating that police usually got on well with the local community in the area, and that the assault was “very disappointing to say the least”.

The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Grenade Thrown At Police In West Belfast
An overnight grenade attack on a PSNI vehicle in west Belfast was a clear attempt to kill or injure officers, detectives have said. A police Land Rover was driving in the Falls Road shortly after 2am this morning, Wednesday 04 December, when it was struck by an object on Milltown Row.

A bomb attack in north Belfast on Tuesday evening has been described as "a blatant attempt to kill or seriously injure police officers". Youths attack police in west Belfast
Police are appealing for information after officers were attack by around 100 youths in west Belfast yesterday evening. The incident occurred in the Albert Street area of the Falls Road at around 6.30pm following reports of dangerous driving. When officers arrived a gang of around 70 youths began throwing stones and other missiles at police.
