Two jailed for hostel manslaughter
Belfast Crown Court, has today imposed sentences of 14-years each on two men who admitted to beating another man to death at a hostel in the city in March 2004.
John Anthony McCullough, 43, and David McBratney, 41, who are both alcoholics, admitted the manslaughter of Eric Atkinson at the Lee Hestia Hostel on Brunswick Street.
The men are understood to have kicked, punched and stamped on the victim, causing around 54 injuries.

Three people still being questioned over hostel murder
Three people are still being questioned by police in connection with the murder of a man at Belfast city centre hostel on Wednesday. The victim, whose name has not yet been released, was found dead at the Lee Hestia hostel in Brunswick Street, at around 3.30am yesterday morning.

Man found murdered in Belfast hostel
Police have launched a murder investigation after a man was found dead at a hostel in Belfast city centre on Wednesday. The body of the man, who is believed to be in his 40s, was found at the Lee Hestia hostel in Brunswick Street at around 2.30am. A police spokesperson confirmed that two men had been arrested in connection with the incident.
