ARA seize almost £750,000 in assets
The Assets Recovery Agency (ARA) has seized assets worth around £750,000 from a County Down car dealer.
The ARA was granted the freezing order against Mr Gerard Mulligan from Berkeley Hall in Lisburn, a second-hand car dealer after they were being told that his assets had been gained through the proceeds of crime.
It is also understood that Mr Mulligan is being investigated on suspicion of fraud, tax evasion and false accounting.
The possessions seized include two properties in Lisburn a Porsche boxter car and 30 other vehicles.

The Assets Recovery Agency (ARA) has been granted a Civil Recovery Order on assets worth around £200,000 earlier today in the High Court in Belfast in respect of the estate of the late Paul Patrick Daly. Mr Daly, 38, was shot dead in Belfast in May 2001.

Police searches in money laundering probe
Police on both sides of the border have carried out a number of searches on homes and businesses during a planned police operation by detectives investigating money-laundering and related activities. Detectives from the Financial Investigations Unit of the PSNI were involved in the searches at premises in Belfast, Ballymena, Lisburn and Bangor.

Assets Recovery Agency freezes NI companies' assets
The Assets Recovery Agency has frozen more than £300,000 worth of assets from three registered Northern Ireland companies, and others in England and Spain. The agency also secured High Court orders against three members of one family from the Carrickfergus area named as Albert, Jessica and Paul Baxter.

ARA freeze assets of £400,000
An alleged fuel smuggler has had assets valued at £400,000 seized by the Assets Recovery Agency, it has been revealed. An Interim Receiving Order (IRO) was granted to the agency, to freeze the business and property belonging to Liam Davidson after it was alleged he had assisted another man in laundering the proceeds of crime.
