Police investigate Dungannon burglaries

Police in Dungannon are appealing for information after a spate of burglaries in the area.

In the first incident, robbers forced entry into a house on the Culrevog Road area of the town and stole a number of items including an antique engagement ring set with three diamonds, a pocket watch and gold chains, worth around £2,500.

In the second incident, thieves broke into a house on the Gortlenaghan Road and again took an antique gold pocket watch, a gold chain and some costume jewellery, estimated to be worth between £3,000 and £4,000.

The robbers also stole an undisclosed sum of cash.

In another incident, thieves once again forced entry into a house on the Benburb Road area of Dungannon.

A Sony walkman, along with a number of other items were taken during the robbery.

This incident was reported to police after the owner returned to the house at around 6pm, however it is thought that each burglary happened at some stage earlier in the day.

Detectives are investigating a possible link between the robberies and have appealed to anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in any of the areas or who may have information on any of the burglaries, to contact them in Dungannon on 0845 600 8000, or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.
