Polish man attacked in Londonderry
Police in Londonderry have appealed for information following the assault of a Polish man yesterday evening.
It has been reported that three men approached the victim as he walked along the Lower Violet Street area of the city at around 7.15pm.
The men asked him where he was from, then knocked him to the ground, before punching and kicking him, and eventually hitting him with a baseball bat.
The victim sustained a cut to his head and bruising to his legs and back, however his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Detectives in Derry are treating the incident as a hate crime, and have asked for anyone who may have witnessed the attack or who may have any information in relation to it, to contact them on 0845 600 8000, or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.

Man attacked during armed robbery in Newtownabbey
Detectives in Newtownabbey have appealed for information following an armed robbery last night. Shortly after 8pm, a financial collection agent, who had just got into his car in a car park in the Ballyduff area of the town, was approached by two masked men, one armed with a handgun and the other brandishing a hammer.

Two arrests have been made over an apparent assault on a schoolboy in Co Armagh. A "disturbing" video emerged online of the incident, according to the PSNI in Craigavon. The incident is believed to have happened at Brownlow Integrated College. PSNI Chief Inspector Jon Burrows praised the "swift and proactive response" of officers.
