Lisburn man dies in house fire
An accidental house fire in Lisburn has claimed the life of a 59-year-old man.
The Fire and Rescue Service was called to a blaze at a house in Young Street in Lisburn at around 7am this morning (Wednesday).
One man, named as Robert Kennedy was rescued from the blaze and was taken to Lagan Valley Hospital where he later died.
The blaze, which is thought to have been accidental, was confined to the bedroom of the terrace house.
It is understood that the smoke alarms in the house were not working.

Fatal House Fire In Newtownards
A woman in her 30s has died in a fire at a house in Newtownards, Co. Down. The fire occurred at a house in Ilex Avenue at around 5.30pm and the woman is reported to have died at the scene. An investigation into the circumstances of the death is being conducted by police who have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

Fermanagh Fire Fatal
Three police officers who helped in a disparate rescue attempt during a fatal house fire in rural Fermanagh have been treated in hospital. They suffered minor injuries as they assisted in attempts to rescue the four people who were in the house on Derryvullan Road, in Tamlaght, outside Enniskillen.

Two fires at a derelict factory in Co Tyrone are being treat as arson. The first blaze started at Herdman's Mill in Sion Mills on Friday, 10 June, which caused substantial damage. The second fire was started on Saturday, 11 June, at around 8.30pm, and caused further damage. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
