Unlawful sexual activity reported in Lisburn area

Police in Dunmurry have appealed for information after receiving a number of reports of unlawful sexual activity in the Giants Ring, Edenderry and Minnowsburn areas of the Lisburn district.

Local residents and users of the facilities have expressed their concerns to police, who are carrying out ongoing overt and covert operations in the area to find those responsible.

A police spokesperson has also said that a robust criminal justice strategy is currently in place, in a bid to bring offenders before the courts.

Detectives in the Lisburn have asked for anyone who may witness any suspicious activity in the area, to contact them on 0845 600 8000, or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.

Lagan murder victim had been stabbed
The murder victim who was found in the River Lagan on Monday had been stabbed in the chest, a postmortem has revealed. Police have made an application to hold a man in his 30’s for a further 24 hours. Yesterday, a house at Rosevale Meadows in Lisburn was cordoned off and forensics teams have been searching the premises.

Education Minister, Maria Eagle, has announced that Charley Memorial Primary School, Drumbo Primary School, Hillhall Primary School and Lambeg Primary School will close at the end of August 2007.

Four Arrested During Lisburn Vehicle Stop
Four people have been arrested during a vehicle stop in the Lisburn area. Police stopped the vehicle, a Skoda Fabia, after the new Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) Intercept Team identified the car as connected to a number of thefts and attempted thefts in the Armagh and Lisburn areas.
