Man charged with withholding information
A 27-year-old man has appeared in Antrim Magistrates Court, charged with withholding information in relation to the murder of a man in Coleraine at the weekend.
Kevin Brendan Gilmore, from Alderbrook Gardens, Coleraine was spoke only twice, once to confirm his name and a second time to say that he understood the charge of withholding information in connection with the killing of 40-year-old Patrick Fleming.
He was remanded in custody for four weeks.
Mr Fleming was fatally stabbed in a flat in the Hazelbank Road area of Coleraine in the early hours of Sunday morning.
He was taken to hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
In December 2004, the Assets Recovery Agency froze assets belonging to Mr Fleming, worth a total of £460,000.
The assets included a house, ten acres of land, 15 horses and an equestrian exercise arena.
At the time, the ASA said that the assets had been obtained through the proceeds of Mr Fleming's alleged illegal drug dealing.
Shortly after the Mr Gilmore was charged, the brother of Patrick Fleming appeared in the same court, charged with possessing a knife and making a threat to kill.
Damien Fleming, 42, from Coleraine, was also remanded in custody.
