Funeral for twin brothers takes place

The funeral service for the twin brothers who died in a road crash near east Belfast at the weekend has taken place.

Mark and Wayne Wallace, 19, were killed when the car in which they were travelling was in collided with a tree on the Ballygowan Road at around 1am on Saturday.

At today's service Archdeacon Gregor McCamley appealed to young people to think more carefully about how they are driving. He said: "Accidents do not just happen, they are caused."

The funeral for the twin's friend 18-year-old David Campbell who was the driver of the car and was fatally injured in the crash, took place yesterday.

Seven people have lost their lives on Northern Ireland's roads since Saturday, bringing the number of road deaths so far this year to 42.

Funeral takes place of mini-motorbike victim
The funeral has taken place of the four-year-old child killed on a mini-scrambler motorbike in Belfast last week. David Spence was sitting on the front of the bike with an adult when it was in collision with a car at the junction of Berlin Street and Riga Street in the Shankill Road area on Thursday.

Funeral of road victim takes place
Police are still appealing for witnesses following the death of a man in a road traffic accident in Londonderry earlier in the week. The man, named locally as Odhran McKinney, 39, was buried at St. Oliver Plunkett Church in Strathfoyle today.

Funeral takes place of stabbed schoolboy
The funeral has taken place of murdered Belfast teenager Thomas Devlin. The 15-year-old schoolboy was stabbed five times in the back as he returned home from buying sweets at a nearby garage with a friend on the Somerton Road in north Belfast last week.
