Harron murder trial jury sent home
The jury have been sent home for the day by the Judge after spending four hours considering their verdict in the case of murdered Strabane woman Attracta Harron.
Trevor William Hamilton, 23, from Concess Road in Sion Mills, is accused of killing the mother of five and concealing her body in a makeshift grave near his home.
The jury at Dungannon Crown Court retired today to consider the verdict after a 28-day trial involving more than 200 witnesses.
The former librarian disappeared on December 11 2003, while walking home from Mass in Lifford, County Donegal. Her body was found four months later.
Members of Mrs Harron's family, including her husband, had waited at the court today for the verdict.
The jury will return to Dungannon Crown Court tomorrow to resume their deliberations on the verdict.

Father cleared of baby daughter’s murder
A man accused of murdering his baby daughter has been found not guilty by a jury at Craigavon Crown Court. Paul Owens, 29, originally from Shrewsbury denied killing his 14-week-old daughter Jasmine McGowan at their home in Twinbrook on the outskirts of Belfast in August 1999.

Priest cleared of child abuse charges
A priest has been acquitted of charges of sexually abusing a teenager almost 30 years ago. Father Patrick Patrick Crilly, 63, from Desertmartin in County Londonderry was cleared of two charges, but the jury failed to reach a verdict on two further charges of indecent assault.

Guilty Granny Killer 'Pleads Innocence'
A pharmacist-turned drunken killer had continued to deny the brutal murder of an elderly grandmother in her own home on Christmas Day 2008. As she was led away to the cells yesterday afternoon, Karen Walsh, 45, continued to plead her innocence on the murder of neighbour Maire Rankin, 81, in her Newry home. Mrs Rankin was found dead in her bedroom.
