Chairman of the Loyalist Commission forced to stand down
A Presbyterian Minister has been forced to step down as the Chairman of the Loyalist Commission.
The Reverend Mervyn Gibson was asked to stand down yesterday during a meeting with the Commission, an umbrella group made up of clerical and community representatives, as well as members from the Ulster Volunteer Force, Red Hand Commando and the Ulster Defence Association.
It has been reported that some of the members were anxious about the Reverend Gibson's involvement in a Northern Ireland Office initiative, which would include the loyal orders and nationalist residents groups.
The Reverend Gibson has expressed his surprised at being asked to stand down and added that although he was no longer a member, he wished the commission well.

Parades Commission Delays Covenant Parade Decision
The Parades Commission has deferred its decision on a contentious Orange Order march later this month. The body said delaying the decision for several days would allow further talks to take place.
