Cash delivery guard robbed at knife-point

Police in north Belfast are appealing for information after a cash delivery guard was robbed yesterday morning.

It is understood that a man armed with a knife, approached the guard outside a bank in the York Road area of the city at around 10am. The man demanded that the guard hand over the cash box he was carrying.

The robber then escaped on foot, in the direction of the Yorkgate Shopping Centre.

He is described as being around 5' 8" in height and was wearing a purple coat, with the word 'Cobra' on it.

The cash delivery guard was uninjured during the incident, however was left badly shaken by the ordeal.

Police have revealed that a considerable amount of money was taken during the robbery and have asked that anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have any information in relation to it, to contact them on 0845 600 8000, or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.
