Man stabbed in Ballymurphy attack

A 37-year-old man has been injured during a stabbing incident at a house in west Belfast last night.

The attack took place in the Ballymurphy area of the city and was reported to police at around 11pm.

The man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

A 31-year-old man has been arrested and is currently being questioned by detectives in relation to the incident.

A police spokesman stated that they are treating the attack as a domestic matter and do not believe it is connected to recent trouble in the Ballymurphy area.

Man Shot In County Down
A 28-year-old man has been shot in the leg in a gun attack in County Down. The man was getting out of his car at the Quays in Killyleagh at about 1.00am on Wednesday morning when a man approached him and shot him. The man is recovering in hospital where his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Man Shot In Co L'Derry
A man has been shot in the ankle in Co L'Derry. The paramilitary-style attack happened near the Creggan shops at around 7.45pm on Thursday, 07 December. The 41-year-old man has been taken to hospital to be treated, however his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Police described the shooting as "brutal and horrific".

Arsonists attack Ballymurphy home
Police in west Belfast are appealing for information following an arson attack on a property in the Ballymurphy area last night. The incident happened just before 10pm when arsonists set fire to the oil tanker of an unoccupied house on the Ballymurphy Road.

Serious Road Crash In L'Derry
A serious road crash has occurred on the Chapel Road in L'Derry. A car and a motorbike where involved in the incident, according to the police. One man, believed to be a teenager, has been taken to hospital where his injuries are believed to be serious. The road has been closed at its junctions with Newlyn Terrace and Spencer Road.

PSNI Appeal For Information After Cars Set Alight In North Belfast
The PSNI have appealed for information after four cars were set alight in north Belfast. Police say the suspected arson attack happened at around 22:30 on Tuesday night on the Whitewell Road. It is understood no one was injured in the incidents.
