Intruder stabs man and sets house on fire
Police have appealed for information after a man was attacked in the bedroom of his College Square North home.
The man in his 40s awoke sometime after midnight to discover a man standing over his bed. The intruder demanded money before wounding the victim in the chest with a knife and then knocking him unconscious.
The victim later awoke to discover that a fire had been lit in the room. The Fire Service rescued the man and he was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are not thought to be life threatening.
The attacker was described as being of stocky build, around 5' 6" with a shaved head. He was wearing a blue track suit top.
Police have asked anyone with information to contact police at Grosvenor Road on 0845 600 8000 or Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111

THE Northern Ireland Fire Service is to receive the first ever award given by the province's devolved assembly. An illuminated scroll is to be presented to Chief Fire Officer John McClelland on Tuesday, by assembly speaker Lord Alderdice in tribute to the sacrifice made by fire fighters over the years.

Police investigating a house fire which claimed the lives of three people are working to establish if there was a fourth victim. The fire happened at a house in the Molly Road area of Derrylin in Co Fermanagh on Tuesday, 27 February. A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and has been detained in police custody.

Police Cancel Appeal For Missing Omagh Man
Police have said they believe missing Omagh man, Shane Sharkey, has been found in the Republic of Ireland. A police appeal for help in finding the 35-year-old has been cancelled, with police saying they now believe they know where he is. No further details have been released but police thanked the public for their help.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.
